His wife said his name was Zachariah Tayloriah Delk but he didn't like that name and he changed it to George Delk. I haven't added his original name because he didn't like it and the name George is in all documents except the 1870 census. His name was changed sometime between the age of 2 and 10. His name was changed after his father died and his name was probably changed to George after his deceased father George.
My personal opinion is that since it was the custom back then to name sons after presidents he was named Zachariah Taylor; his older brother was named Henry Harrison.

George, beloved husband of Vernetta Walls Delk, at his residence, 624 Crescent-av. Covington, Thursday, July 20, 1950, aged 80 years. Service from the Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Robbins-st and Madison-av, Covington. Monday, July 24, at 10 a.m. Interment Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon Sunday.

GEORGE DELK, 80, DIES AT COVINGTON
Mr. George Delk, age 80, a retired farmer, passed away July 20, 1950 at his home in Covington, Ky.
The deceased was born in Indianapolis, Ind., Feb. 11, 1870.
He came to Casey County when four years old and spent the rest of his life in Casey and Lincoln County until he was no longer able to work. Then he moved to Covington in 1942.
On May 9, 1895 he was united in marriage to Vernetta Walls, of the New Salem section.
To this union were born seven children. Two preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife and four sons. Virgil Delk, Highland; Zora Delk, Somerset; Herman Delk, Sharonville, Ohio; Ernest Delk, Lockland, Ohio; and one daughter, Florence Tinsley, Elmwood, Ohio; eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Hamilton, Stanford.
He had suffered for several years of heart ailment. He was always patient and had a pleasant disposition on through his illness, never complaining. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Allison and Rose Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. Monday July 24th.
Burial was at Highland Cemetery at Ft. Mitchell, Ky.
