Arthur "Pete" Combs, 84, died Monday, May 31, 2004, in La Grange.
He was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Hazard to the late Owen Combs and Mahalia Campbell. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the United Mine Workers, a veteran of World War II and member of Dehaven Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebekah Marshall Combs. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah E. Combs; and a brother, Howard Combs.
Services were Thursday at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in La Grange. The Rev. Tony Rose officiated with burial at Valley of Rest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Halcomb, Irvin Jackson, George Watson, Eugene Campbell, Joe Schuck and Russell Martin.
Memorial gifts may be made to the building fund of DeHaven Memorial Baptist Church.
