He resided at 110 Scrantom Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 30, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed at the Rochester Box and Lumber Company and also as being Single, without dependents.

James "Died Of Wounds" received in France during the war and was awarded a Purple Heart.
