Mary Elizabeth Humphries Withoff age 88 of San Antonio died on May 22, 2011. She was born in Dallas, Texas on August 12, 1922 to Iris Mae Baker Humphries and Paul Wesley Humphries, Sr.
Mrs. Withoff was preceded in death by her husband Paul August Withoff. Mrs. Withoff leaves three children and two grandchildren; daughter, Mary Anne Withoff; sons, Robert August Withoff and wife Kathleen Marie of Boerne, TX, and James Allan Withoff and wife Kathleen Ellen of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Dawn and Derek Dean Withoff of Boerne, TX; brother, Paul Wesley Humphries, Jr. of Richardson, TX.
Mrs. Withoff attended school in Dallas, Texas elementary school, Mt. Auburn and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She was an undergraduate of Texas Women's College in Denton, TX; San Antonio Junior College; Our Lady of the Lake University, weekend college; Texas School of Trust Banking; University of Texas at Arlington and American Institute of Banking.
She worked with her husband in his accounting practice; after his death she was employed at Bexar County National Bank in accounting and trust department. She was an associate for the past nine years at the Forum at Lincoln Heights. During her business career she served as President of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Business and Professional Women's Group; Chaplain of the San Antonio Chapter of the National Association of Bank Women.
She was a member of the Altar Society and the VSP's at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church were she was a member for the past forty-eight years.
A Rosary was recited on Thursday, May 26, at 6:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass was offered on Friday, May 27, at 10:30 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery.
