Writer. Born in the suburbs of Antwerp, Belgium as Hugo Wouters, he founded the magazine “Gard Sivik” and was a member of the Pink Poets society. One of his most noted poetry collections was “My Given Word” (1966), which gives a poetic and pessimistic report on his loves, friendships, disappointments and antagonisms of hope and despair. His other literary works included “Het uur Marat” (1958), “Het masker man” (1960), “Hedendaags” (1963), “De acht hoofdzonden” (1970) and “Mijn tegenstem” (1973). He also was a translator for many Belgium and German television productions. He died suddenly at age 43 in Flanders, Belgium.
