Doris came to Montreal Canada in October of 1923 aboard the Athenia with her parents Edward Court and Maria (Crowder) Court and older sister Marion. They were moving from England and going to Mount Forest Ontario to her mother's Aunt Suzanna Cooper to settle. Doris and her parents also lived in the Detroit Michigan area around the 1930's. Her father Edward relocated the family to Detroit to find work in the Auto factories. Doris was married to Gregory Hatfield of St. John New Brunswick, he died April 6th, 1960 in Windsor of a heart attack at 45 years old. Doris was the mother of four children, Leonard, Robert, who were born in St John New brunswick and Doris and Deborah who were born in Windsor Ontario.
