Phil Don Hoffman 66, of 503 S. Bedford St., Bedford, died Friday, April 20, 1979 at 7 a.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for two years.

Born June 15, 1912 in Saltillo, he was the son of John E. and Laura Maude (Lane) Hoffman.

He is survived by his wife Anna (Brown) Hoffman, of Huntingdon.

Hoffman is also survived by one daughter. Two grandchildren also survive.

One son preceded him in death.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Standing Stone Post 1754, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was employed by the East Broad Top Railroad from 1932 to 1940.

He was then employed by the Pennsylvania Electric Company in 1940 and from 1946 to 1967, he held the position of district general foreman of the Huntingdon district.

In 1967 he held the position of district general foreman of the Bedford district until 1975, at which time he retired.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the John B. Brown Funeral Home.

Interment will be made in Saltillo Cemetery, Saltillo.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, April 22, after 7 p.m. and Monday, April 23, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

It was Mr. Hoffman's request that flowers be omitted and Memorial contributions be made to the Cereberal Palsy Association.
