Esther, wife of Cadet Lynn Drew of Maxwell Field near Montgomery, Ala., was brutally slain and attacked last Thursday night while returning from visiting her husband. Her body was discovered in a drainage ditch near the fashionable Cloverdale addition where she roomed last Friday night. She was a bride of only three weeks and was a cadet nurse at St. John's hospital in Springfield. Daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Thomalla, 1279 East Vanderhoof street, Decatur.
