Sebastian Farkas, 86, of 1925 East 30th St., died yesterday at 11:25 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of four weeks.
He was born Jan. 20, 1877 in Vestremety, Austria-Hungary and lived in Painesville and Toledo six years before coming to Lorain 54 years ago.
Mr. Farkas retired in Sept. 1945 from National Tube Division where he was employed as a mixet-operator in the Open Hearth Department for 36 years. He was a member of St. Ladislaus Church, Mukedvelo Lodge and Verhovay Lodge.
Survivors are his wife, Rose, a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Irene) Simon, Lorain, a son, Steve C. Farkas, Lorian; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a s ister, Mrs. Elizabeth Nagy, living in Hungary.
Friends will be received in the Reidy-Scanlan Funeral HOme after 7 p.m. today. Services will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a requiem high mass at 9 a.m. in St. Ladislaus Church. The REv. Zoltan Demko will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
