Peggy Ann Alexander Key Beaird, 64, of Homer passed away at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday (May 25, 2011) at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana.

Mrs. Beaird was born on Aug. 1, 1946, in Mendota, a daughter of Gail Orr and Lois Jean Mahar Alexander.

She is survived by one daughter, Amy Key (Lonnie) Bodine of Decatur; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Bodine of Decatur and Jennifer (Chad) Briner of Chatham; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Caitlyn, Landin and Carter; and one sister, Becky (Charles) Schickner of Ellington, Conn.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, a great-nephew, aunts, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister (Bonnie Jean Alexander).

Peggy attended the Homer New Life Church of Faith. Before retirement, she owned the Bix Service in Champaign. As a hobby, she loved to work in her yard.
