Adalbert Barott, one of the few civil war veterans who marched in the parade here on Memorial Day, died very unexpectedly Tuesday evening after a short illness.

He was a native of New York and later resided in Kansas until he came to Mayville last fall to make his home with his nieces, the Misses Barott. He reached the age of 76 years in January. He was a member of Co. B 44th Wis. Infantry.

Definite arrangements as to the funeral had not been made at this writing.

Adalbert Barott, a 76-year-old Civil War veteran who had lived with his nieces Etta and Elsie Barott in Mayville since last August, died Tuesday evening after a brief illness. He was one of the few old veterans who marched in the parade on grave decoration day. The funeral was held this Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. R. Manaton.
