MRS. SARAH J. SMITH DIES AT HER HOME IN BOGARD TUESDAY
Mrs. Sarah Jane Smith passed away at her home in Bogard at 9 am, Tuesday morning after a lengthy illness. In a few days, MRS. SMITH would have celebrated her 93rd birthday. She was born, June 11, 1861. She is survived by the following children: MRS. IRA AUSTIN, Bogard; MRS. CHARLES W. JOHNSON, Truesdale, Kansas, MRS. REUBEN TAYLOR, Bogard, JESS SMITH, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, OSCAR SMITH, Bogard, MRS. AUBURN CARTER, Norborn, MRS. J. D. MILLER, Los Angeles, California, and MRS. LEE JOHNSON, Bogard. The body was taken to the Dickerson Funeral Home in Bogard. Funeral arrangements have not been completed at this time pending the arrival of relatives from a distance.

SARAH JANE SUTTON SMITH, was born June 11, 1861 in East Tennessee, the daughter of THOMAS F. and OLIVIA MOYERS SUTTON. She came to Missouri with her parents in 1881 and had made her home in the Bogard community since 1920, after the death of her husband. On October 12, 1876, she was united in marriage with JAMES FRANKLIN SMITH. To this union 12 children were born. She was proceded in death by her husband, three sons, THOMAS, JOHN, and ARCHIE, and one daughter, LOVONIA. She is survived by the following children: MRS. IRA AUSTIN, Bogard, MRS. CHARLES W. JOHNSON, Truesdale, Kansas, MRS. REUBEN TAYLOR, Bogard, JESS SMITH, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, OSCAR SMITH, Bogard, MRS. AUBURN CARTER, Norborn, MRS. J. D. MILLER, Los Angeles, California, and MRS. LEE JOHNSON, Bogard. She was a member of Bogard Methodidt Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 o"clock at the Bogard Methodist Church conducted by REV. W. K. HARPER, of Florida, MO, assisted by REV. O. C. ALESHIRE and REV. C. E. VANDERPOOL. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
