LEA BORDEN ROBINSON

Lea Robinson

CENTREVILLE, MS, February 21, 1942
Mayor Lea Borden Robinson, 54, of Centreville, State Chairman of the Civilian Defense Council in Mississippi, died early today at Ford Hospital in Detroit where he went about ten days ago for treatment. Funeral services will be held in Centreville Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Robinson had served as mayor for the past decade and organized the Civilian Defense Council in Mississippi for which he was chosen State Director with offices at Jackson.

Friends said strain of work in connection with his intensified activities with the defense set-up probably contributed to his declining health.

Robinson was junior partner in the Robinson Mercantile and Robinson Wholesale companies here where he had been a merchant for nearly fifty years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella R. Robinson and four daughters, Mrs. W.C. Rasberry of Shreveport, LA; Mrs. W.E. Hall of Shreveport, LA; Mrs. Edwin White of Lexington, MS, and Miss Clara Robinson of Centreville.
