In memoriam

Died at the home of her son, J.R. Hollomon Esq. of this county April 14th 1888 Mrs. Sussannah Hollomon, aged about 79 years. She was the widow of Pleasant Hollomon, one of Meigs County's most noted and respected citizens who died about the close of the late war.

Aunt Susie, as she was familarly called was one of the pioneer women of the county; was the mother of a large and respectable familyof children, most of whom are living in the western states. She lived an earnest and devoted member of the Baptist church for nearly 55 years and died peacefully and we believe triumphtly in that faith. She delighted much in singing and hearing the songs of Zion sung and was often seen and heard to shout the praises of her redeemer when thus engaged. Well may it be said that another one of the old mothers in Israel is gone. That, earth counts a mortal loss; but Heaven an inmate more. Peace to her memory. By a friend

She was first intered at Hardwick Cemetery and later moved to Baker Cemetery when the TVA built Watts Bar Dam and created the Watts Bar Lake
