Elsie Taylor was born April 24th, 1921 to Jack and Eula Baker. She was one of seven children and was raised in a fine Christian home in Morning Star.

She was preceded in death by her mom and dad; two sisters, Alta Glenn and Derinda Baker; and three brothers, Aaron, Leroy and Daniel Baker.

When Elsie was 17 she married Bardis Lynn Davis and had six children, four daughers, Violet and the late George Brister, Bennie Watts and husband Charles, Drucellia Eaton and husband Gerald, all of Marshall and Priscilla Brister and husband Walter of North Little Rock; two sons, Jackie Lynn Davis and Richie Allen Davis and wife Natha also all of Marshall; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Raymond Baker of Morning Star; she is also survived by a host of family, friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. Elsie will be dearly missed.

She loved her family dearly. One of her greatest pleasures in this life was simply sharing a meal with her family. After the death of Bardis, Elsie married J. Gordon Taylor. They were only together for five years when God called him home. In that short time they made many good memories. Elsie attended Pine Grove Church in Morning Star. Her parents, Jack and Eula Baker were pioneers of the faith and helped start the church. Elsie's greatest desire was that all of her children and grandchildren would give their hearts to the Lord and be saved. I can still hear her pray, "Lord, don't take them unprepared."

Services for Elsie Taylor will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall with Bro. Harold Tilley officiating. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Marshall.

Pallbearers will be J.R. Brister, Kevin Brister, Edwin Eaton, Nick Reed, Brandt Reed and Nathan Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Wallis, Clayton Lesley, Cory Ragland, Rick Reed, Kristan Stuart, Tyler Stuart and Justan Eaton.
