Dorothy A. Savoy, age 83, of Plymouth, died on Saturday, May 21 at the Renaissance Gardens in Hingham. She was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence J. Savoy. Loving mother of Paul L. Savoy and his wife Linda of Norwell and Stephen J. Savoy and his wife Marcia of Pembroke. Dorothy is also survived by her grandchildren Michael, Robert, Eric, Stephanie, and her great-granddaughter Chloe. Born in Plymouth, March 29, 1928, daughter of the late Harold and Inez (Ardizzoni) Forniciari. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and Fisher College, where she finished in the top six of her class. Dorothy retired as First Assistant Register for Plymouth County Probate, retiring in 1991. She was very artistic and loved to paint, do hand work, such as quilting and crocheting, gardening, and playing the piano. Dorothy was very generous and was known by her family as their caretaker. She was well respected by the judges and lawyers of Plymouth County for her many years of work. Dorothy will be missed by her family and friends. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home 150 Court St., Plymouth on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Peters Church in Plymouth at 10:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place at the Chiltonville Cemetery in Plymouth.
