FUNERAL FOR ARTHUR RICH HELD SATURDAY

Funeral rites were conducted Satuday at 1 p.m. in Vernal 1st Ward Chapel for Arthur Adam Rich, 83, who died Thursday of last week at 3:30 p.m. in a Price hospital of causes incident to age.

Prayer at the mortuary was by Bob Rich, Prelude and postlude music was played by Mable Stagg. Opening song, "Beyond the Sunset" was sung by a double trio consisting of Bonnie Robbinson, LuRae Caldwell, Fae Howells, Melba Eaton, Florence Lee and Eva Hatch.

Invocation was offered by Gerald Dalton and a duet "Whispering Hope" was sung by Bonnie Robinsin and LuRae Caldwell. Obituary remarks were given by Bishop Thomas Howells. First speaker was Van Massey followed by a song "Perfect Day" by Don Walker and Lois Erickson accompanied by Ruth Walker. Second speaker was Archie Johnson and the double trio sang the closing song, "Going Home". Kirt Rich offered the benediction.

Burial was in Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery with dedication of the grave by Jerry Rich. Pallbearers of the deceased Charles Reed, Arthur, Jerry, Thorald and Kenneth Rich.

Mr. Rich was born October 12, 1877 in Monpelier, Idaho, a son of Charles C. and Jane S. Stocks Rich. He married Gertrude McCarrell in 1900 in Vernal. She died in 1935.

Mr. Rich was Vernal City Marshall for about 10 years and also worked as a farmer and road construction worker.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Shirley Meyers, Alhambra, California; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Johnson, Long Beach, California and Mrs. Libbie Sabey of San Francisco.
