Betty Jean Bartels was the youngest of three children born to Albert & Erma Binkley Bartels. Her siblings were Ruth and William.
Betty had known Boyd Dahlgren for years before they married; he actually lived with them, helping her father on their farm. She married William Boyd Dahlgren on September 25, 1943, at Pierre. To this union were born their two daughters, Danna and Debra. Boyd died a premature death at the age of 52 of complications from diabetes.
She married Chester "Chet" Boyle, whose wife Mavis nee Dahlberg, had died in 1974. Chet died in 1991.
At her death she was survived by daughters Debra and Donna (Mrs. Lloyd Bren) and by Chet's children.
