JOHN ABBOTT, 88, DIES, SERVICES HELD SUNDAY
April 17, 1967
John T. Abbott, 88, of 2205 Gurley Avenue in Waco, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Littlepage Funeral Chapel in Mart. Rev. Henry Brown officiated with burial in Mart Cemetery. Mr. Abbott was born in Grimes County and attended Baylor University. He taught school in Limestone and Falls counties for 10 years and was an election judge at Ben Hur for about 30 years. He also had farmed before retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mart. Surviving are his wife, Ruby; one son, C.W. L. Abbott of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Susie Schneider of Waco; two grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
