Brenda C. Alltop
Brenda Carol Alltop, 61, a resident of the Byron Center Road in Grand Rapids, Mich., and a former resident of Belington, departed this life at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, in the Home of Hope Hospice Care Facility in Grand Rapids, Mich., following an extended illness. Death was attributed to cancer.
She was born July 20, 1941, at Spencer, a daughter of Frances Alltop Wiley, who survives, and the late Herbert Lee Alltop.
She was formerly married to John Bucher, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Todd Bucher, Grand Rapids, Mich.; three daughters, Rebel "Margie" Braman, Charlotte, Mich., Tina McClelland, Hastings, Mich., and Lisa Ford, Florida; two sisters, Barbara Newell, Fairmont, and Shirley Poe, Schwartz Creek, Mich.; two brothers, Ronald Alltop, Grafton, Ohio, and David Alltop, Richmond, Va.; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Alltop was a 1959 graduate of the Belington High School and had lived in Michigan since 1967. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home, 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until 11 a.m. at which time Ms. Alltop will be moved to Valley Bend Baptist Church, where friends will be received from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when services will be conducted with the Rev. Kerry Nance officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Bend Cemetery near Belington.
