Mr. Walter T. Gunter Passes March 10, 1952. Revised and corrected from last week by Tilmon W. Gunter.

Walter Turk Gunter, aged 80, of Canton, Georgia, died at Mary Alice Hospital in Cumming at 9:40 A.M., Monday, March 10, 1952.

Mr. Gunter was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County where he was born June 20, 1871.

He was a member of the Land Mark Baptist Church.

He was married to Clara King on November 18, 1888, who died September 14, 1916.

To this union a son and daughter survive, Timon (sic) W. Gunter of Cumming and Mrs. Julia Leatherwood of Spartanburg, S.C. and his wife to whom he was married in 1918, who survives him with a son James W. Gunter and a daughter Mrs. Dan Hillhouse, all of Cherokee County; one brother, R.A. (Lon) Gunter of Lake City, Florida. 28 great great
grandchildren, 23 grandchildren and a large host of Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services were held from Hopewell Baptist Church in Cherokee County at 11 A.M. March 12, with Rev. Beaver of Cobb County conducting the service.

Interment was at River View cemetery in Canton, with Baker Funeral Home in charge.
