Mr. Frederick J. Van Auken II, age 67, of Pleasanton, and former resident of San Antonio and Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 11, 2011. He was born in Tacoma, Washington on August 30, 1943 to Sgt. Harry Herbert Van Auken and Sophie Bigda Van Auken (Barboza). He was preceded in death by his parents and second wife Staff Sgt. Marcia M. Fair. Mr. Van Auken is survived by his four children; seventeen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and his first wife and good friend, also survive him. Mr. Van Auken moved his family from Tampa to San Antonio in 1973. He was employed as District Manager for R.G.I.S. Inventory Specialist. Mr. Van Auken grew up in Lowville, New York and graduated from Lowville Academy. He furthered his studies and graduated from Leicester Jr. College, Leicester, Massachusetts, as well as the University of Tampa, Tampa, Florida. Mr. Van Auken was of the Catholic Faith and will be greatly missed by all his family. Expressions of sympathy may be made online to the family at [email protected].
