William Vernon Bowser, 82, Friendsville, died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

Born July 15, 1922, in the Cove, he was a son of the late Rufus and Susan E. (Gatterman) Bowser. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Alice "Vergie" Lowdermilk; and one daughter, Bonnie Stanton.

He worked as a laborer at HMH Corp. for 22 years, and attended State Line United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Sheila Sines, Friendsville; two brothers, Wayne Lee Bowser, Friendsville, and Cecil Bowser, Fort Hill, Pa.; two sisters, Ann Baluch, Addison, Pa., and Shirley Bowser, Grantsville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends were received at Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was held today, Thursday, June 23, with the Rev. Oren Bender officiating.

Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Accident.
