Florence Agnes Brower, 93, Joplin, formerly of Granby, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin following a brief illness.

Mrs. Brower was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Granby, the daughter of Hugh Trent Sr. and Anna Lee Porter Trent. She was a lifelong area resident and worked at Kraft Foods, Big Smith and La-Z-Boy. She was a member of the Church of Christ, an avid gardener and member of the National Iris Society, and a doll collector and member of the Joplin Doll Club.

She married Homer Brower on May 18, 1935, in Granby and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2005.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald Brower and wife, Beverly, Joplin, William "Bill" Brower and wife, Debbie, Anderson, and Wayne Brower and wife, Charlotte, St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter, Helen Reddout, Outlook, Wash.; a brother, Hugh Trent, Jr., Mt. Vernon; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Reddout.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby. Internment will be in the Granby Memorial Cemetery and grandsons James Brower, Mark Brower, Mike Brower, Tony Brower, Darren Brower, Jacob Brower and Adam Brower will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call from noon to 7 p.m. Monday at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.

Contributions in memory of Florence may be made to Joplin Health Care Activity Fund or St. John's Hospice, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 26, Granby, 64844.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
