Diane E. Fischer, 66, Bismarck, died May 21, 2011. A private memorial service will be held at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, followed by burial at Parshall Cemetery.

She was born to the late Ralph and Olga Bartelson on May 11, 1945, in Minot. She attended Parshall High School and was married to Wade Fischer in 1963. The couple lived in Garrison together until 1991. Since then, she had resided in Bismarck.

Diane worked at Garrison Memorial Hospital for several years as medical records director. She was a devoted mother, an adventurous cook and baker, a talented graphic artist and will be remembered as a spontaneous, fun-loving friend.

Diane was delighted with the outdoors and the Western lifestyle. She took great pride in her rural upbringing and was an advocate for the values of honesty and hard work as demonstrated by the farmers and ranchers of North Dakota.

She is survived by three children, James, San Diego, Steven Michael, Garrison, and the apple of her eye, Alissa Diane Mundt, Santa Fe, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Wade.
