ROGERSVILLE - Dinah Hilton Johnson, age 96, of Rogersville, passed away Monday morning, March 19, 2007, at her residence.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rogersville and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mrs. Johnson was a retired school teacher of the Hawkins County School System.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle H. Johnson; parents, Lloyd D. and Rosie Hilton; son, Harold Johnson; brothers, Nerge Hilton, Walter Hilton, Arnold Hilton, and L.D. Hilton; and sisters, Alsie Hilton and Gerline Hurd.

She is survived by her son, Hugh Kyle Johnson and wife, Delores of Surgoinsville; daughters, Jane Campbell and husband, Deryl of Rogersville, and Linda Adkinson and husband, Tom of Durham, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Katherine Johnson of Rogersville; 9 grandchildren, Jerry B. Johnson of Tampa, FL, Kathy Porter of Hampton, VA, Paige Goddard of Lenoir City, Whitney Mathis of Starksville, Miss., Kristi Brooks of Bulls Gap, Mark Campbell of Franklin, Amy Campbell of Chicago, IL, Alysa Frederick of Durham, N.C., and Lani Hunsaker of Rogersville; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Bill Hilton and wife, Shirley of Rogersville; sisters, Joyce Gordy and husband, Truman of Rincon, GA, Ival McMillian and Lydia Hurd of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 (noon) - 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Robert Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Johnson, Mark Campbell, John Goddard, Rex Frederick, Mark Mathis, and Joe Brooks.
