Bruce Burkhart, 49 of Chestnutridge, died May 16, 2011, in St. John's Hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1961, the son of Robert and Eula Mae (Gideon) Burkhart.
On June 26, 2010, he was united in marriage to Terri Vest. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his ATV and camping. Bruce was a dedicated and hard-working man and truly enjoyed his family, grandchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Bruce is survived by his wife Terri, five children Wendy Crossland of Sparta, Matthew Burkhart and wife Chelby of Leslie, Crystal Shrewsbury, Misty Shrewsbury and Jeremy Shrewsbury all of Chestnutridge; three sisters Rita Kay Grider and husband Mike of Highlandville, Carol McHaffie and husband Bobbie of Bruner, and Shelly Elsey of Nixa; two brothers Randy Burkhart and wife Debbie of Sparta and Bobbie Burkhart and wife Vallery of Chadwick; five grandchildren Hunter Crossland, Shelby Crossland, Lane Burkhart, Keegan Burkhart and Gavin Kildea; other relatives and many loving friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. May 19 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Dale Roller officiating. Burial will follow in Chadwick Cemetery.
