Of Martha's 3 younger sisters in Virginia, Nancy and Lydia died young. Only her youngest sister Louisa lived to adulthood, married and had children.
Two years after Martha's death, the McClelland family home was destroyed by fire. Any photos of Martha held by her family in Texas were lost. In the 1930's Martha's grand daughter Nancy Skaggs Smith Hoenshel visited Martha's youngest sister Louisa Davis Quillen in Virginia. Louisa gave her niece Nancy an early photo of Martha, which Martha's great great grand daughter Barbara Bowie-Whitman discovered among Martha's grand daughter and Nancy's sister Ruby Smith Johnson's possessions on November 13, 2013!
