Ardmore — Graveside services for Bobby Jo "Bob" Michael will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Bobby Jo "Bob" Michael, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to his home in glory Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Bob was born December 19, 1930 in Durant, to William Cecil and Vera Louise Michael.

He graduated from Ardmore High School in 1949, then attended Oklahoma A & M, now Oklahoma State University. After one year of college, Bob was drafted into the Air Force and served from 1950 to 1955.

Bob married Laureen C. "Mickey" Burrell on July 15, 1951, in Ardmore.

Bob worked in the oil field and became vice president of Star Fiberglass Pipe in Big Spring and San Antonio, then later became vice president of Co-Ex Equipment Company in Midland, Texas. In retirement, Bob went to work for Clear River Pecan Company as the ice cream maker.

He is survived by his wife, Mickey of 60 years, a sister Margaret Helms of Ardmore; a brother Joyce Wayne Michael and wife Shirley of Edmond; a sister in law, Billy Jack Michael of Ardmore; son Derrick Michael and wife Shelley of Snyder; son Richard Michael and friend, Mason Page, of Houston; three granddaughters, Kaci Martinez of Tulsa; Haley Martinez of Texas City, Texas, and C.J. Michael of Snyder; one great granddaughter, Abigail Martinez of Texas City, Texas; and many other relatives and very good friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to Cal Farley Boy's Ranch.
