Della Gail Palmer, 97, of Inola, OK passed from this life Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Inola.
She was born July 16,1913 in Braggs, OK to George Washington and Mary Arizona (Bowles) Keaton.
Della attended school at Pleasant Valley. She married Verner (Shorty) Palmer and spent her life making a home and being a mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Midway Home Demonstration Club.
Ms. Palmer is preceded in death by her parents; George and Mary Arizona Keaton, husband; Verner Palmer, daughter, Jerry Virginia Palmer, two sons-in-law, Eugene Treat and Chester Smith, a step-grandson, Brandon Brumfield, six sisters, Mary Cox, Eva Collins, Pearl Mosteller, Ruth Mosteller, Edith Sharrer and Leora Keaton and four brothers, Lester Keaton, Edward Keaton, James Keaton and D.J. Keaton.
She is survived by one brother, Don Keaton of Haskell; three daughters, Betty Treat of Haskell, Mary Smith of Haskell, and Peggy Jones and husband Jerrold of Inola. Seven grandchildren and spouses, Jim and Debbie Treat, Debbie and JR. Wilburn, Kelli and David Fierro, Kerri Jay,Tim and Mary Jones, Jason and Judy Jones, Chad and Amber Jones. Fifteen great grandchildren, Laura Treat, Dale Treat, Nicholas Wilburn and wife Sunshine, Joshua Wilburn and wife, Amanda, Kayla Jay, Zachary, Hayley and Cooper Fierro, Connor and Teagen Jones, Peyton and Presley Jones, Laine and Kate Jones, and Isabella Brumfield. Three great-great-grandchildren, Jordan Treat, Olivia Wilburn and Gabriel Wilburn. Three step grandchildren and their families, Jennifer and John Timmons, John and Marissa, Steve and Andrea Brumfield, Katie and Elijah, and Stephanie Sanatorico. Two sisters-in-law, Elsie Keaton and Rae Keaton and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Casket Bearers will include Jimmy Treat, JR. Wilburn, Tim Jones, Jason Jones, Chad Jones, and David Fierro. Honorary casketbearers will be Nicholas Wilburn, Zachary Fierro, Cooper Fierro, Joshua Wilburn and Dale Treat.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Haskell with Rev. Gary McKeen officiating. Interment will be in the Haskell Cemetery under the direction of Dowdy Funeral Home.
