UPPER SANDUSKY - Ruth E. Swartz, 83, of Green Acres Nursing Home, Kenton, died Sunday in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. She was in failing health seven years.

Born Sept. 18, 1896, in Wyandot County, she was married to Lawrence Weatherholtz, who is deceased, and Calvin Swartz, from whom she was divorced.

She was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church, Upper Sandusky, served as matron of the Wyandot County Jail while her husband was sheriff, and clerked in Upper Sandusky Drug Store.

Surviving are a foster daughter, Mrs. Donald (Cleo) Morris of Upper Sandusky; 3 sisters, Mrs. Edgar Weatherholtz, Mrs. Delmo (Octavine) Miller and Mrs. Clifford (Violet) Miller all of Upper Sandusky; a brother, Curtice Bennett of Forest, and 5 goster grandchildren. Two brothers and 2 sisters are deceased.

Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lucas Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, by the Rev. Robert Baker. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
