Eldon R. Atkinson
Eldon R. Atkinson, 91, of Emmett, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at an Emmett care center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29. at the LDS Church. 1001 E. 2nd St., Emmett. Bishop Ralph Gurney will officiate. Interment will follow in the Emmett Cemetery. Services ere under direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel, Emmett.
Eldon was born July 13, 1906, at Camas, Utah, where he grow up. On June 12, 1930, he was married to Rada Corbett. They moved to the Emmett area in 1944, where they farmed until they retired. Rada died in March 1998.
When he wasn't working he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonya and Leon Hill of Shingletown, Calif., and Eldene and Garris Brown of Emmett; four sisters, Alta Jones, Erma Wade, Verl Ougdate and Verde Bates, all of Utah; seven grandchildren, Cindy, Steve, Mike, Keven, Krisie, Karen and Jeff; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, LaRee Gilford; a grandson, Eldon; two brothers; and a sister.
