A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of George W. and Annie Fore Couch. She was retired from Burlington Industries. She was a member and former pianist at Beverdam Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel J. Brown; a daughter, Annette Singleton of Candler; a brother, Jack Couch of Oteen; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Revs. Talmadge Maynor and Dean Good will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home, and at other times, will be at the home of Artie Walden on Browns View Church Road.
