Mrs. Ethel Blackwell, of Amarillo, died yesterday evening at 7:30 o'clock while visiting a sister in Texarkana, Ark., it was learned by friends here last night.

She became suddenly ill last Sunday.

Her son, Lewis M. Blackwell, who is manager for the Yellow Cab and Baggage Company here, was called to Texarkana late Sunday and was at her bedside at the time of her death.

She also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Grider, of Dumas.

Her husband, Lloyd Blackwell, is the operator of a local barber shop.

The Blackwell home is at 4212 West Thirteenth Avenue.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed late last night but it was known that burial would be in Amarillo.

The body of Mrs. Ethel Blackwell was returned to Amarillo last night and is in state at the family home, 4212 West 13th Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Place of the rites has not been set, but interment will be in the Clarendon cemetery under direction of Boxwell Brothers.

Mrs. Blackwell, 54 years old, died Wednesday night at 7:30 o'clock in Texarkana, Ark., following a brief illness of pneumonia. She had gone to Texarkana to visit a sister.

Mrs. Blackwell was a member of the West Amarillo Christian Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include the husband, Lloyd Blackwell, operator of a local barber shop; a son, Lewis M. Blackwell, Amarillo; and a daughter, Mrs. Madison Grider of Dumas.

Final tribute to Mrs. Ethel Blackwell, who died Wednesday night at Texarkana, will be paid at services to be held at 10 o'clock this morning at the West Amarillo Christian Church.

Rev. Powell A. Smith, pastor, will officiate. Pallbearers will be G.A. James, Joe Gray, Forrest Ansley, Bob Russell, E.J. Witt, and George Autry.

Following the services here the body will be taken to Clarendon for burial there. The body is in state at the home, 4212 West Thirteenth Avenue. The casket will not be opened at the church.

Besides her husband, Lloyd Blackwell, she is survived by a son, Lewis Blackwell of Amarillo; and daughter, Mrs. Madison Grider of Dumas.
