Ray Samuel Brandenburg Jr., 86, of Tower Road, Foxville, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 10, 1923, in Foxville, he was the son of the late Ray Samuel Brandenburg Sr. and Rae (Hauver) Brandenburg.
He was a graduate of Thurmont High School, class of 1940.
He was a farmer, was employed by Fairchild Aircrafts of Hagerstown, was a substitute postal carrier for the Lantz route and retired from Mack Trucks of Hagerstown in 1987.
He was a member of the local United Auto Workers 171 and attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Smithsburg.
He was an avid reader.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. John W. Schildt and Pastor David Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Smithsburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the funeral home.
