R/76973 Flight Sergeant, Pilot Charles George MacDonald of The Royal Canadian Air Force.

Vickers Wellington Bomber L7891 of No23 Operational Training Unit took off from RAF Pershore for a cross-country training exercise. The aircraft dived from 3,000 feet and crashed as a consequence of the dinghy breaking from its stowage and fouling the controls at Tiddington, Oxfordshire, England killing all five crew members.
