He fought bravely at the battles of Bisland, LA, Port Hudson, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, and Brashear City, LA. He was promoted to Full Corporal on 01 Jan 1863.
He died in the service of his country on 24 Jul 1863 in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, LA of disease. Aged 28 Years 5 Months 14 Days.
After his death, Henrietta married to Mr Henry O. Sherman.
