Rosemary Frances Knoll was born on July 21, 1934 to Stella Falkenstein and Frank P. Knoll in Greeley, Colorado. The eldest of 7 children, Rosemary is survived by Marvin Knoll, Elaine Trometer, Frank Knoll and Steven Knoll. Her brothers Melvin and Raymond preceded her in death.

Rosemary attended Irondale Elementary and Assumption Catholic schools. Her Father farmed in Dupont, CO and she always told of the fond memories of helping her dad on the farm picking produce.

On April 27th 1952, Rosemary married Bernard J. Younger at St. Catherine's Church – now Our Lady Mother of the Church. They had six children, Keith, Darrell, Thomas, Chris, Mark and Steven. Her husband and all six children survive her. Rosemary and Ben recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

After raising the children, Rosemary continued her education becoming first a Licensed Practical Nurse and then a Registered Nurse. Working for St. Anthony's Hospital for over 18 years, she loved helping people and the challenges of nursing. She retired in 1999.

Rosemary lived life around her family, always nurturing and gently guiding them in the right direction. With 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, she kept busy having family gatherings for birthdays and holidays or whatever reason she could find to bring them together. And when she found some time for herself, she enjoyed listening to music, shopping in second-hand stores, playing cards, going on road trips, tending her plants and garden and keeping up with current events.

Rosemary was always thinking of others. A birthday, holiday or other special time never went unnoticed. You could bet that telephone call, card or letter would arrive just when you needed it most. She had an amazing ability to sense the unspoken – if something was bothering you or you just needed a lift, she could immediately tell and was there with a sympathetic ear.

In fact, Rosemary had bionic hearing! Words spoken within several blocks were heard and absorbed. This made it extremely difficult trying to hide the trouble you just got into or that surprise you wanted to keep secret. She always knew when something was up – good, bad or otherwise! After all she did raise 6 BOYS.

Rosemary could keep up with the best of them. Camping, fishing – you name it. One summer evening Ben came home with a motorbike for the boys. After watching each of the kids take their first ride around the block, Rosemary spoke-up that it was her turn to take it for a ride. Reluctantly, Ben showed her how to use the controls - the throttle, the brake and here is where you put your feet. Off she went, down the long driveway almost making the turn before forgetting where the brake was and ending up across the road and in the ditch. Running to rescue her from the mishap, Ben and the boys found her with a few scratches, a bruised ego and desire to try it again tomorrow.

Rosemary was the kind of mother that every kid wished they could have. Always there for her family – through the good times and the tough times. She could stretch a dollar, teach Catachism classes, bake cupcakes for the 3rd grade class, cook, do homework with the boys, keep an immaculate house, weed the garden, can what she picked – and then get up and do it all again the next day.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 16th followed by the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady Mother of the Church, 6690 E. 72nd Ave, Commerce City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17th at the Church. Services will conclude at the church.
