Delores "Ghee" Allen Stanton Haynes, 81, of 5335 Sheffield Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Curdsville native was retired owner/operator of Delores' Beauty Shop, member of St. John United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. She was a member of James L. Yates Post 9 American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary NHCA. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dwight Stanton in October 1976 and Earl Haynes in June 1995. Her daughter, Kathy Stanton Shelton, died Oct. 8, 2000. Survivors include a son, Dwight D. Stanton of Clarksville, Tenn.; two stepsons, Robert Haynes of Owensboro and Thomas Haynes of Brooksville, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Pat Henzler of Toledo, Ohio, Earlene Click of Santa Fe, Texas, and Sherry Payne of Hardinsburg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 20 stepgreat-grandchildren; a stepbrother, J.B. Hallmark of Hebbardsville; and a stepsister, Betty Keach of Hebbardsville. Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to The Salvation Army, 215 Ewing Road, Owensboro, KY 42301 or St. John United Methodist Church, 2160 Griffith Ave., Owensboro, KY 42301.
