Darlene Joy Steffen, 92, of Brush passed away peacefully with her family at
her side,Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Garden Terrace in Aurora, CO.
She was born June 5, 1925 in, Nebraska to John and Marie Gunther.

She graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1944. Darlene married the
love of her life Dale Steffen on December 31, 1947 in Greeley, CO. They
made their home in Brush where they owned the OK tire store for many
years and later moved to Fort Morgan. She was a life long member of the
Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. Darlene worked in the Brush
and Fort Morgan JC Penney stores for 21 years and retired in 1990. She
loved spending time with the family and playing cards in several clubs. She
was a loving mother and grandmother remembered for her apple pies.

She is survived by her two sons, Bob (Gayle) Steffen of Fort Morgan, Gary
(Celia) Steffen of Castle Rock; seven grandchildren, eleven great
grandchildren, and four siblings.

Her parents and eight siblings preceded her in death.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later time. Heer Mortuary is
entrusted with the arrangements.
