Joined the military in 1940 and served in the Asian-Pacific Theatre until discharged in Dec. 1944. He was in New Guinea and Australia during the war building runways for the planes as well as roads and bridges for troop transport.One week after being honorably discharged he was married to the love of his life. Bob remained in the National Guard until he retired in 1974. He was a MSG and the shop foreman at Gowen Field Vehicle Maintenance Shop.
Bob loved to fish and camp, he also loved collecting rocks wherever he went. After retiring they lived on the little Salmon River for several years before traveling around the country in their motorhome. Eventually they returned to Ada County and lived there.
