Funeral services for Cora Rankin Music will be conducted from the First Church of the Nazarene Monday, June 1 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Charles Stroud and Rev. Moette Krapff officiating. Burial will follow in the Ural Cemetery south of Elk City under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Music was born in Waco, Ky., Oct. 20, 1889 to M. T. and John Ann Bonny. She died late Friday evening in the Cordell Christian Home. She came to Oklahoma with her parents in 1901 where she met and married John W. Music on May 24, 1905 in the home of her parents. THey lived in Canute until 1946 when they moved to Elk City where she lived until February of 1962 when she entered the Cordell Christian Home.
She was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene in Elk City. She was preceded in death by her husband John on Sept. 10, 1964; two daughters, Ida Music and Virgie Lee Melvin; a son, Noble Music, and three brothers, John, Ben and Nath Bonny; aslo three sisters Maud Powell, Brooks Powell and Maggie Melvin.
She is survived by three daughters, Idell Parks and Verna Stover, both of Canute, and Jackie Neighbors of Oklahoma City; also by eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
