The funeral of Tom Shires, 41, Dallas lawyer and former member of the Texas Legislature from Waco, who was fatally hurt when his automobile overturned near Tyler Thursday, was held Saturday afternoon at the chapel of Ed C. Smith & Bro. Undertaking Company, with the Rev. Fred C. Eastham, pastor of McKinney Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were W. M. Collie and Wade H. Williams of Dallas, Dick Holt, Claude Miller, W. D. Dunham, and Joe W. Hale, all of Waco.

Honorary pallbearers were: Dr. C. C. Nash, Gabe P. Allen, E. G. Moseley, T. K. Irwin, L. E. Humphreys, Ernest Eslick, Walton D. Taylor, Judge P. Simpson, Judge W. C. Morrow, Arch C. Allen, Dr. J. C.
