Clayton Rubin Franz passed away on August 5, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 25, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Ruben E. Franz and Elsa M. Ottmers.

He graduated from Fredericksburg High School as Soluteorian in 1946 and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi in 1961. Clayton represented his country honorably in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was employed with Southern Steel in San Antonio, Shell Oil Corporation in Corpus Christi and Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, where he retired in 1991. He was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death his parents; his wife Erna in 2002; his wife, Annabelle in 2008; sister, Marion; and granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Brackeen.

Clayton is survived by his children, Sherry Fletcher Jeff of Pipe Creek, TX and Jeffrey Franz Leslie of Midlothian, TX; stepson, Gary Ahrens Leslie of San Antonio; grandchildren, Aric & Chad Brackeen, Erin & Sara Fletcher, Day Lynn Webb, Russell Myers, Jordan Franz, Nicholas & Bradley Ahrens; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
