Margaret (Shea) Boldt, 79, of South Dakota, formerly of Vernon, widow of Donald Boldt, died Thursday, (August 6, 2001) in South Dakota. She was born in Rockville, daughter of the late Daniel and Alice (Scully) Shea and had lived in the Vernon area until moving to South Dakota in 1959.

She was a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, and before her retirement she was director of nursing at Lake Norden Care Center in South Dakota.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Boldt of Massachusetts, Susan and Robert Kasten of South Dakota, Denise and William Delaney of Minnesota, Jean and Gregory Gutzman of South Dakota; her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Nancy Boldt of Montana, Richard and Kathy Boldt of South Dakota, James Boldt and Daniel Boldt, both of South Dakota; 17 grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Evelyn Shea of Coventry, Joseph and Monaco Shea of Rhode Island; and many other relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Daniel, Thomas, John, and her sister, Katherine Rauschenbach.

Funeral services and burial were in South Dakota. The family requests memorial donations be made to North Central Hospice, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, CT. Published in The Hartford Courant on Sept. 8, 2001.
