Among his many posts are Commanding Officer, 112th Regiment (1944), Assistant Deputy of Staff, US Army (1945-1949), Assistant Commanding General, 1st Calvary Division (1949), Assistant Commanding General, 7th Division (1950), Deputy Commanding General, 8th Army, Korea (1951), Commanding General, 24th Division, Korea (1952), Commandant of Command & General Staff College (1952-1954), Commanding General, 7th Army (1954-1956), Commander In Chief, US Army, Europe (1956-1959). In 1959 Hodes retired from military life.
