World War II Nazi German War Criminal. Nazi Governor of the Netherlands 1940-1945. Under his rule 5 million Dutchmen were sent as quasi-slave labor to Germany and 117,000 Dutch Jews were sent to be killed in the camps in Poland. Found guilty of war crimes and hanged. His remains were cremated in the oven at Dachau concentration camp along with many other Nazi criminals. The ashes were raked out and scattered into the Wenzbach/Conwentzbach, a small stream in Munich.
