Thomas Dexter Griffin was born in Jewell county (sic), Kansas, November 24, 1877. He graduated from the Superior high school and later attended the University of Nebraska where he received both A.B. and Bachelor of Law degrees. In 1905 he organized the Farmers State bank (sic) at Hardy and in 1929 was one of the organizers of the Security State bank (sic) of Superior. He was president of both institutions at the time of his death. He has served his county and district on many important committees and in the state legislature but his great work has been in the development of his own community.

Death came to him Wednesday, December 6, after an illness of many months.

In accordance with his expressed wishes no public service was held. The body was taken to Omaha Friday for cremation. - Hardy Herald.
