She was born Sept. 18, 1921 in Grant County to the late Chauncey and Arstella (Ford) Chapel. She was married to her husband of 31 years, William A. Thompson on April 8, 1938 and he preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1969. She was a homemaker and excelled in cooking and crocheting.
Survivors include six children, Ruth Ann (Blaine) Fish, Aurora, Colo., Betty L. (Tim) Swihart, Fort Wayne, William A. (Milicent) Thompson Jr. Marion, Stella (Dick) Brown, Tucson, Ariz., Roberta Wilkerson, Fairbanks, Alaska, Vivian M. (Bob) Davis, Fort Wayne; sister, Emma Skinner, Jonesboro; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and enjoyed.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 in Estates of Serenity Cemetery, 1101 S. Lincoln Ave., Marion, with the Rev. William A. Thompson III officiating.
Casey Lloyd Funeral Home, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion is in charge of arrangements.
