Grace M. Deckard, 85, of Bloomington, died on Saturday at her residence.

Born September 11, 1919, in Monroe County,
Daughter of Rev. John H. and Alberta M. (Fox) Hayse.

Graduated from Smithville High School,

Worked for 20 years at R.C.A. and retired as a dietician from Indiana University with over 20 years of service.

Member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Kindness Circle.

Survived by:
2 daughters, Mariann Morris and Emma R. Gooldy and husband, Mike, all of Bloomington;
9 grandchildren, Tim Gooldy and wife, Kathy Rillo, Jeff Gooldy, Amy Gooldy, Kari Loviscek, Brad Hoeg, Aaron Hoeg and wife, Chrissy, Mark Deckard and wife, Teresa, Patricia Wiseman and Donnie Deckard;
11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by:
Parents,
Husband, Russell F. Deckard;
2 sons, Donald Deckard and Floyd Deckard;
1 brother, Lloyd Hays;
2 sisters, Jessie Hays and Olive Hays;
Niece, Louise Ooley.

Services at Allen Funeral Home, with Rev. Douglas Simpson officiating.

Burial at Clear Creek Cemetery.

1930 Census - John H(53) & Bertie M(46) Hayes are found living on a farm they own located on Handy Ridge Road, Perry Township, Monroe County, Indiana. John is a carpenter doing construction work. Children living in the home were Lloyd C(24) employed as a stone cutter in a stone mill; Jessie A(19) and Grace M(10) Hayes. Also living in the home was their granddaughter Mary L. Hill, age 7. All household members were born in Indiana.
